Website Launch

It has been just over a year since the project fully launched, in September 2019. Since then, the UK has been through a general election, a drastic change of Labour Party leadership, has left the European Union, and of course, is in the grip of a global pandemic.

This has given us both opportunities and challenges to studying alternative media. On the one hand, it has meant we have had lots to observe and much data to collect. On the other hand, elections and lockdowns have disrupted our fieldwork plans. Nonetheless, we are now at phase where we are ready to begin informing others about our research.

So, we are now launching our website, Twitter account and project logo.

Our website will host details about our research plans, publications, and media commentary. The site also provides short profiles about the alternative media outlets in our samples, as well as blog posts about alternative media.

Meanwhile, our Twitter account will broadcast website updates, share news and commentary about alternative media and the “MSM”, and highlight the activity of alternative media outlets.

We expect to be busy in the following months, so follow the account to stay updated.
